Cookie dough is my weakness, if you feel the same you need to try my edible cookie dough recipe. This recipe does not use eggs so it is completely safe to eat and that makes it my go to for a number of holiday treats. If you want to mix it up, you can swap the chocolate chips for kit kats, oreos, reeses or any other chocolate candy you can think of. This recipe is quick, easy, delicious and can also be used at a cake filling.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup of milk or heavy cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
INSTRUCTIONS:
Beat brown sugar and butter together in a bowl or kitchen aid until light and fluffy.
Beat in vanilla extract.
Add flour and salt. Mix until combined.
Add milk or heavy cream, a little at a time until it’s reached desired consistency. If you are using as a cake filling, add heavy cream until it’s a spreadable consistency.
Fold in chocolate chips or chocolate candy pieces.
Eat with a spoon, spread on cake layers or add to mini ice cream cones for the perfect bite sized treats. Here’s a fun recipe for my carrot cookie dough cones for a super sweet Easter idea.
Enjoy!
