February 21, 2024

These cookie dough carrot cones are EVERYTHING! If you are a sucker for cookie dough and love the idea of cake pops, this tutorial is for you. These cones are the perfect handheld dessert for spring and Easter, make them for your neighborhood egg hunt, brunch or Easter party and you’ll be the talk of the town. I’ve linked all of the items you will need below for a super easy and seamless go at this delicious treat.

What you’ll need:

Now that we’ve tackled our products, let’s get to the fun part. The quality of your melting chocolate and brand will determine your success level. I find that a quality brand chocolate like Merckens makes for the smoothest chocolate consistency and will make dipping a breeze. One other tip….make sure you pop your cookie dough balls into the freezer for about 20 minutes so they hold together during dipping. You’ll dip the top of your cone into orange chocolate before adding your cookie dough ball, having them a bit cold will make the chocolate set quicker and allow the cookie dough ball to adhere faster for dipping, this will ensure it does not fall off the cone. Once you’ve tackled that, you are well on your way to having the most talked about treat in town. So let’s get after it!

Instructions:

Prepare cookie dough recipe.

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Using a small cookie scoop, scoop cookie dough balls and roll evenly.

Place on to cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.

Once complete, place cookie sheet in freezer.

In two separate bowls, melt orange and green melting chocolate. Heat in 30 second increments until smooth and melted. Do not over heat or your chocolate will seize and be unusable.

Dip mini cones in melted orange chocolate and place on parchment paper to set.

Line another cookie sheet with parchment paper for your carrot leaves.

Add green melted chocolate to a piping bags and snip a small hole in the end.

Pipe green chocolate onto parchment paper in the shape of carrot leaves. Once you have piped enough for cones, let set.

Once cones have set, add a Lindt chocolate egg to the inside of cone.

Next, remove cookie dough from freezer. Dip the top round part of your cone or the bottom of your cookie dough ball in melted orange chocolate and immediately add cookie dough ball. Hold until set, then place on parchment paper.

Once you’ve completed the above step, dip top part of cookie dough ball into melted orange chocolate.

Immediately add green chocolate leaf, let set.

Optional: Drizzle with melted orange chocolate and sprinkle with pastel nonpareils.

ENJOY!!
